      CONNER DAVANT
Conner has been part of the track and field program for three years as a thrower. His determination, de-
sire to improve, and resiliency were always on display at every practice and track meet. Those traits made him relentless in seeking improve- ment regardless of any past suc- cesses, and are qualities coaches dream of in their athletes. Conner has a lot to be proud of and we know he will continue to succeed as he moves on to college with the same dogged pursuit of excellence he brought to track and field.
CHARLEY DENNY-CAPTAIN
Team captain, dedicated in the utmost to the self-discipline of running--it would be hard to imagine anyone who has made a more pos- itive impact on our distance running program than Charley. She is so devoted to her training that she has made astounding progress in every race distance, carving huge chunks off of her times in each successive year, and becoming a state meet qualifier in the 3200m last season. Beyond her athletic achievements, this “Johnny Appleseed of good will” is universally loved by her team- mates and coaches.
TAYLOR HENRY-CAPTAIN
Captain Taylor is a four-year member of the track and field team and has been an immeasurable asset to the boys’ sprint program. Every season, he came back to the track focused, ready to work hard, and with a great attitude. His ability to learn, retain and execute with precision really set him apart from all his competitors. In his junior year, Taylor decided to try a new event, the 400m. In his first year running the quarter-mile, he placed 6th at the NCISAA State Champion- ship meet!
MARION DONALD
Marion is a total competitor made of rock-solid toughness and has served as a key performer in girls’ cross country and track since her freshman year. The girls’ team’s successes in recent years always seem to run through Marion. In the classroom, and in her life as an athlete, Marion is defined by steady self-discipline. She combines that with unconditional support and love for her teammates, who look to her as a friend, leader, and role model. Marion loves to be challenged, and she has surmounted every obstacle placed in her path.
       CASSIE FIGUEROA-CAPTAIN
Cassie is the ultimate teammate.
As an athlete, she is talented and tough, and has qualified for the state meet in each season of track, while earning All-Conference honors in cross country. She was named cap- tain in both cross country and track, in part because she is so reliable, she never misses practice, and she is always looking for ways to lift her teammates. She is hilarious, forever breaking up the hard discipline of training with funny stories and ques- tions, and we love that quality in her.
WORTH HINSHAW-CAPTAIN
Captain Worth epitomizes the success that comes from painstakingly pursu- ing the ongoing process of becoming an endurance athlete, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. Worth has steadily improved since his freshman year, until he emerged as a junior as one of the top male distance runners in the confer- ence and in the state. Worth’s upward arc came from grinding out miles and becoming a student of the sport, while propelling him toward a promising career at the next level of competition.
