       MARY CATHERINE POPE
Mary Catherine has been described as our team’s “point guard,” because she is always handing out “assists” to her teammates. She is exceptionally talented at pacing, which makes her teammates lucky to have her along- side them in workouts and in races. She also exudes positivity through thick and thin, in both good times and hard times, which means that she is invaluable as a team leader.
MATT SCHWARZ
Competing all four years, Matt got stronger and faster, and gave his all
in practice and at meets. Matt’s quiet leadership made a big impact on the program. He led by action more than words, which was beautifully displayed in his first leg run in the boy’s 4x100m relay. He started the race powerfully and always put his team in a position to win.
CHARLIE THIGPEN
Joining track and field team two years ago, we have watched Charlie’s interest grow from a spark into a fire. That fire was always on display as he competed in track meets and in practice. It was some- thing that influenced his teammates and was a catalyst for the success- es he achieved. Charlie did a great job of balancing his responsibilities, competing for both track & field and golf.
    AJ TOLBER
AJ joined the track team as a senior to improve his speed for football but he immediately made a huge impact on our track and field program. AJ’s leadership shined each and every day. He was the glue that connect- ed the athletes across the different events, and he related to both the newcomers and the veterans.
