Chairman, Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions
D elhi-based industrialist Shishir Jaipuria is deeply aware of the importance of industry-
academia connect. Managing director of Ginni Filaments Ltd (estb.1982, annual revenue:
Rs.800 crore), Jaipuria is also chairman of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions
(SAJGEI), the umbrella organisation of 12 K-12 schools, five preschools and two business manage-
ment colleges in north India. The aggregate enrolment of SAJGEI is 20,000 students mentored by
over 800 faculty.
Shishir is a grandson of the late Seth Mungturam Jaipuria (1904-1978), a nationalist industrialist-ed-
ucationist who promoted the group’s pioneer Seth Anandram Jaipuria College in Calcutta (Kolk-
ata) in 1945. Shishir Jaipuria was appointed chairman of SAJGEI in 2010 with the mandate to carry
forward the family’s education and human capital development legacy. Since then, the group has
rapidly expanded, particularly in the educationally under-served Hindi heartland states of Uttar
Pradesh (pop. 215 million), Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. SAJGEI’s flagship Seth Anandram
Jaipuria School, Kanpur (estb.1974) is ranked #1 in the city and #2 in Uttar Pradesh among co-ed day
schools in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2019-20.
