Co-founder, Heritage Group of Schools, Delhi

C o-founder of the Heritage group of three top-ranked schools in Delhi NCR (Rohini,
Vasant Kunj and Gurgaon), Manit Jain is arguably India’s most committed proponent and
practitioner of experiential learning pedagogies. An alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of
Education, Jain has successfully mainstreamed experiential teaching-learning in the group’s three
co-ed day schools — all ranked among the Top 10 schools in Delhi NCR in the EducationWorld
                                         India School Rankings 2019-20.

However, the jewel in the crown and Jain’s pedagogies development lab is the Heritage Xperi-
ential Learning School, Gurgaon (HXLS, estb. 2003) which has 3,734 students mentored by 465
teachers on its rolls. In less than two decades, Jain has transformed HXLS into a model K-12 insti-
tution visited by educators from across the country and abroad to study ways and means to in-
troduce experiential pedagogies in their schools. In the latest annual EducationWorld India School
Rankings 2019-20, HXLS, which has been steadily rising in public esteem, is ranked #1 countrywide
                                         among co-ed day schools.

“The moving spirit of HXLS is our experiential learning philosophy. We believe that experience
and reflection are at the heart of real education, and our children learn by undertaking multi-dis-
ciplinary hands-on projects. Conventional K-12 education is too theoretical and doesn’t prepare
children to face the challenges of 21st century workplaces,” says Jain.
