When the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2017 were revealed on April 21, MastaPlasta’s directors Stephan Pavlou and Donna Clarke were appropriately visiting their biggest customer in the United States.
They had the perfect audience to announce that MastaPlasta was on the winners’ list for both International Trade and Innovation.
Their patented self-adhesive leather
and vinyl repair “Band-Aids” are discreetly
covering holes, rips and burns in furniture,
vehicle seating, bags and clothing
worldwide. The designers have delivered
their patches to blue-chip companies like
Apple and to army bases as far away as
Guam; customised labels for fashion designers, casinos and cinemas; and saved many a favourite armchair from the tip.
