Act it Out!
It is interesting to think that the same feelings that move us today are the ones that were relevant 400 years ago; love, courage, laughter, and passion, to mention a few.
Even though, the English language has changed; today it is much less formal than in those days. We strive to learn it to understand that amazing era.
Shakespeare’s plays were very popular in his time; he even preformed for Queen Elizabeth I and, after she died, to the next ruler, King James I.
Over his life, time he wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets (poems).
He died in 1616, at the age of 52; it is uncertain how and why he died, there is even a theory that he had been poisoned. We will never know! What we all know is that he was an incredible writer with talent rarely seen in any era.
Have you ever read a story written by Shakespeare?
As you read before, Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare’s most famous stories. Next, your teacher will read to you a small version of the story, and then you will form teams and try to act out your favorite part.
