In 1968, The Bank of Sweden (Sveriges Riksbank) establishes The Prize in Economic Sciences which is technically not considered a Nobel Prize.
Interesting facts about the Nobel Prize
• Individuals and organizations awarded a Nobel Prize are called Laureates which refers to laurel wreath. In ancient Greece they were given to victors as a symbol of honor.
• Since 1901 there have been 830 Laureates and 23 organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Prize
• Only 40 women have received this high honor.
 Marie Curie: In 1903 her discovery of radioactivity earned her the Nobel Prize in physics. In 1911, she won it for chemistry.
