Subject-Verb Agreement
Rule #1 The subject and verb have to agree in number. This means that a singular subject goes with a singular verb and a plural subject goes with a plural verb.
Remember verbs are not nouns you do not add s to form their plural.
Rule #2 We use singular indefinite pronouns (each, either, neither, nobody, anything, everyone, everyone, everybody, anyone, anybody, someone, and somebody) with singular verbs.
Examples:
Everybody reads a Grimm´s story in junior high. singular verb
Nobody writes like that anymore. singular verb
Examples:
Many people work for the king.
Rule #3 Plural indefinite pronouns (several, few, both, many) go with plural verbs.
