Annual MLK Observance - Monday, Jan. 20, 2019 (Ramapo High School, Spring Valley, NY)
- informative table with history, paraphernalia, mentoring pamphlets and sign-up sheets were
displayed. Impact; over 400 community members attend this historic cultural event.
MLK, Jr. Oratical Contest - January 2019 (Chestnut Ridge Middle School, Chestnut Ridge,
NY) - Students chose, memorized and oratorically shared a famous speech by MLK and stated
its significance for an audience (i.e. administrators, teachers, parents, family, friends, etc.),
trophies for first, second and third place were awarded. All participants received a certificate of
participation and gift (i.e. calendar, journal,etc.) Light refreshments were served. Impact; over
50 participants attended.

Description of the Activity: Weekly, monthly, as needed announcements on Facebook page
about events, programs, members accomplishments (SOROR SPOTLIGHT), etc.
CHILDREN, ADULT & EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, TOUCH -A-CHILD:
Number of Sorors: 4 Others: 150: Description of the Activity: 7th Annual Breakfast with
Santa - partnership with the IMANI All Star Program on Dec. 21, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza
Hotel in Suffern, NY. Food, fun, arts and crafts, STEM board games, gifts, raffle (bike), photo
booth with Santa, musical chairs and breakfast with African American Santa. Benefit
undeserved children from the MLK Multipurpose Center in Spring Valley, NY. EC Chapter
participated as volunteers and financial sponsors for the event with Pan-hellenic Divine Nine
Organizations to help children of all ages enjoy a festive time.

COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS, EDUCATION AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS
(ACADEMIC ISSUES AND CURRENT TRENDS) Number of Sorors: 5-10
Descritpiton of Activities: Monthly discussions at the Chapter Meeting on hot topics that
effect the NSPDK memebers and education field (i.e funding, equity, inclusion, technology,
parenting, school issues-national, local, etc.) relative to commission on civil rights, education
and legislative affairs.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS (SISTERHOOD) Number of Sorors: 5 Others: 20
Description of the Activity: 14th Annual Charter Day Observance (Sunday, November 17,
2019) - Worshiped with St. Paul's AME Zion Church in Spring Valley, New York and repast
luncheon at the La Terrazza Restaurant in New City, NY with EC Chapter, IP Regional Director
(Little, visiting sorors; Theta, Delta Pi, ____________).
Sisterhood Dinner Out (bi-annual experience) - partnered with Chili's Restaurant to invite
family, friends and community out to fellowship. IMPACT: Recruitment of Krinon Club 2019
and raised minimal funds for service.
FOUNDER'S DAY: Number of Sorors: 2 Description of Activities: EC Chapter participated
in the annual Founders' Day worship experience and repast in May 2019.
