Praha*, another beneficiary, did not have a chance to study as a child. She said,
“I am so excited to read and write, I practice daily so that I can improve. Now I can write my name, address and even sign my name!”
The Mother and Child Health program run by our Developing and Empowering Women (DEW) team, is reaching out to a growing number of women. This year we counselled anaemic women, pregnant or lactating mothers and adolescent girls. We held baby showers, awareness programs, womens’ and childrens’ health clinics, family planning sessions and antenatal programs. Intervention is making a big difference in the lives of women, their children and entire communities.
You have helped enable these precious women to see that they are now capable of doing much more than their previous circumstances allowed.
“We have joined in this venture to make our community safe and healthy. Our sisters in DEW are working very hard to produce the necessary cloth masks. These masks are distributed to women in the slums to sell. Through selling these masks, women in slums have the opportunity to earn some money during this pandemic,” Dr S*, Board Member.
