Workers Compensation Benefits
GMR pays the full cost of premiums for Workers Compensation Insurance. All GMR employees
are eligible for benefits. Actual benefits are determined by the Workers Compensation carrier
who administers them in accordance with state law.
Holidays and Other Paid Leave
Holidays
All regular full-time employees (employees normally scheduled to work at least 30 hours per
week) are to receive pay for the following holidays:
• New Year’s Day
• Martin Luther King Day
• President’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Veteran’s Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
Holidays falling on Saturday will be observed on Friday and those falling on Sunday will be
observed on Monday, unless otherwise indicated by the Executive Team.
To be eligible for holiday pay, employees must work (or use paid leave) the last scheduled day
immediately preceding and the first scheduled day immediately following the holiday.
Be aware business needs may necessitate the presence of some employees on certain holidays
to handle emergencies or other special needs. When an employee has been on special duty on
a holiday, or the holiday falls during an employee’s scheduled day off, the employee shall be
granted a pro rata amount of time off on another day (in the same calendar year), as
determined after conference with a member of the Executive Team. Unused holiday hours do
not carry over into next year.
If a statutory holiday falls during an eligible employee's paid absence (such as vacation or sick
leave), holiday pay will be provided instead of the paid time off benefit that would otherwise
have applied.
