BREAD PUDDING WITH RUM SAUCE



      Bread pudding                   Bread pudding

      15 oz. of white sandwich bread  In a large bowl, tear bread slices into small pieces. Add the rest of ingredients and stir until mixed
      2 ½ cups of sugar               well. Coat a 9 x 13 inch pan and pour in mixture. Allow mixture to come to room temperature,
      5 eggs                          about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 45 minutes or until puffed up and golden

      3 ½ cups of skim milk
                                      brown. Let stand for 30 minutes.
      2 tbsp. vanilla

                                      Rum sauce
      Rum sauce
                                      Cream butter and sugar in mixer at high speed, until light and creamy. At low speed, add egg and
      ¼ lb. butter
      1 cup sugar                     mix until blended. Then add rum and mix until blended. Mix on high for 20 to 30 seconds until
      1 egg                           light and fluffy. Serve atop the bread pudding.
      ¼ cup white rum
