Golf & Culinary Trail

     Day 1   Arrive in New Orleans in time to play *The Golf Course at Audubon Park. Home to more than 1,300
            restaurants, New Orleans is truly an epicurean delight. French cuisine blends with local cooking styles
            and creates distinctive Creole and Cajun dishes that are original to the city, such as po’boys. Dine at
            any number of great spots from fine dining to a hole-in-the-wall. Stay in a historic hotel in the French
            Quarter or a convenient hotel along Canal Street.
     Day 2    In the morning, make your way to New Orleans’ oldest and most visited neighborhood – the French
            Quarter—there you can have breakfast at Café du Monde, this iconic New Orleans restaurant has been
            serving visitors since 1862, enjoy beignets and café au lait, before heading to Baton Rouge to play
            18-holes at *Santa Maria Golf Course. Eat at any of Baton Rouge’s local seafood restaurants where
            you can dine on either seafood gumbo, crawfish etoufée, or chicken and sausage jambalaya.
     Day 3    Head to Lake Charles where you can play 18 holes at one of the new members to the Audubon Golf
            Trail, *Mallard Golf Club.  Then take a drive  to experience Lake Charles’ Boudin Trail. Boudin is a
            Cajun staple food, made from Louisiana long-grain rice, pork and each chef’s secret blend of spices.

     Golf & Culinary Trail
     Day 1   Play 18 holes on Louisiana’s number one public golf course, *Black Bear Golf Club. Enjoy the relaxed
            pace of life and friendliness of folks in northeast Louisiana as you dine in many of the restaurants
            serving Southern staples.  Cornbread and down-home vegetables are served along-side Louisiana
            favorites, including mouth-watering catfish and crawfish.

     Day 2    On your way to Alexandria, swing through Natchitoches, the oldest settlement in the Louisiana
            Purchase, and famous for the Natchitoches meat pies, a must-eat when in the Natchitoches area. In
            Alexandria, play 18-holes at *OakWing Golf Club, which offers a unique Jim Lipe design interwoven
            throughout its beautiful England Air Force Base location.
     Day 3    Play two great courses today, *The Wetlands in Lafayette and *Farm d’Allie Golf Club in Carencro.
            Your night in Lafayette will be an evening to remember, dine where homegrown chefs put a fresh spin
            on time-honored Cajun recipes, dive into shrimp and grits, oyster dishes or any number of great Cajun
            and creole classics.  You’d be wise to extend your stay in the heart of Cajun Country. First-time travelers
            rarely allow enough time to take in the region’s treasures. Here, the folks are generous hosts and excellent
            cooks. They strive to preserve the Cajun heritage, which includes knowing how to have a good time.
     Golf & Culinary Trail
     Day 1   Start your tasty journey in Marksville and play 18 holes at *Tamahka Trails Golf Course at Paragon
            Casino Resort. Enjoy down home hospitality and good food without pretense.

     Day 2    Head northeast to Alexandria for 18 holes at *OakWing Golf Club, a hidden jewel that you are sure to
            enjoy. From Soul food to meat pies, the variety of cuisines featured in this area means, you’ll be planning
            your next meal before you even leave the table.

     Day 3    Your final day of the itinerary leads you to *Koasati Pines Golf Club, located at the Koasati Pines
            Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder.  After golf, you will discover the foods of Allen  Parish are some
            of the best authentic Cajun cuisine. From crawfish to gumbo to King Cake and cracklins, you will find it
            all in this area.
