ST. MARTIN PARISH

In St. Martin Parish, learning comes alive through immersive, hands-
on experiences rooted in culture, history, nature, and the arts.
Students can explore NUNU Arts and Culture Collective in Arnaudville,
where creativity meets sustainability in a space dedicated to cultural
exchange, workshops, and artistic expression. At the St. Martinville
Cultural Heritage Center, they’ll engage with both the African American
Museum and the Acadian Memorial, discovering Louisiana’s diverse
heritage. The Wall of Names, engraved with 3,000 early Acadian
refugees, allows students to make their own name rubbings as a
personal keepsake.

Nearby, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site offers a glimpse
into life in the early 1800s with a guided tour of a reconstructed
Acadian farmstead, featuring period-style buildings, outdoor
kitchens, a bread oven, and heritage livestock.

In Arnaudville, Atelier de la Nature inspires students to care for the
environment through guided nature walks, eco-workshops, and
hands-on outdoor learning. Add in swamp tours through the
Atchafalaya Basin and visits to the Prehistoric Park—where dinosaurs
and paleontology take center stage—and you have a field trip that’s
both educational and unforgettable.

Whether exploring the past or discovering the great outdoors,
student groups will find adventure and education at every turn in
St. Martin Parish.
