Shreveport-Bossier: Enough, Flavor, Style and Education for Two Cities
Shreveport-Bossier is a vibrant, culture-rich destination, perfect for
student travel. Located in Northwest Louisiana, this region is
easily accessible from I20 and I49 with direct flights available
from multiple U.S. destinations.
The area’s many museums highlight a variety of cultural stories.
Southern University Museum of Art is one great example, as it is
the only museum in North Louisiana focused on the lifestyle of
the African and African American diaspora.

For a hands-on experience, visit Sci-Port Discovery Center with
two floors of exhibits and Louisiana’s only IMAX Dome Theatre.
Groups can also learn glassblowing at Sanctuary Glass Studios
or get outside to play at Chasing Aces.

Shreveport-Bossier has many places to interact with animals as
well. The Shreveport Aquarium is a fun place to start, and a short
trip out of the city limits is Chimp Haven—the world’s largest
chimpanzee sanctuary, and Gators and Friends: Alligator Park
and Exotic Petting Zoo.

For a bite to eat after a long day touring, check out Strawn’s Eat
Shop, a local favorite known for its ice box pies, or visit Marilynn’s
Place or Orlandeaux’s for classic Louisiana cuisine.
