Welcome!
Louisiana is full of
natural beauty, places
to go, and things to
do. There is no better
way to experience this
beauty than taking a
boat ride on the wild
side in one of its many
swamps and bayous, visiting its historic homes along the
Mississippi River in the River Parishes or experiencing a rum
tasting made with Louisiana sugar cane at the Bayou Rum
distillery in Lacassine.
Our Sportsman’s Paradise also offers hunting, fishing and 21
state parks to experience its natural beauty. There is a park for
everyone to enjoy from one end of the state to the other where
you can enjoy mountain bike riding, horseback riding, fishing
and kayaking.
Our many trails and byways will take you off the beaten path to
eat in some of the best local restaurants and venture into small
towns influenced by those who settled in this region.
You can even explore the 3,400-year-old mounds at Poverty
Point World Heritage Site – one of just 25 sites in the U.S.
designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site – then journey
down to the Poverty Point Reservoir State Park and enjoy one
of our cabins over the water.
Our fall and spring festival seasons bring with it music, dancing,
food, and fun. And our many museums touch on history, art,
culture, films, and everything that makes Louisiana special.
I promise you will not be disappointed in #OnlyLouisiana.
