1934 Started Christian Prayer Group at Ahmadi consisting of the Malayali Christians working in the
then established Oil Sector(KOC).
1950 Named as Orthodox Syrian Christian Congregation with 36 members.
1950 H G Daniel Mar Philexinos (Thumpamon Diocese ) visited the congregation
1956 St. Paul's Church was built and our church became the member of Inter Church Congregation
(ICC).
1959 Sunday School Started
1961 Bahya Kerala Bhadrasanam was formed and our parish came under its jurisdiction.
1962 Holy Qurbana Started by Rev. Fr. George Kurian on monthly basis
1962 The Parish became a full fledged parish and Rev. Fr. C.V.John appointed as permenant vicar
1965 HH Moran Mar Baselious Augen 1 (Cathalicose and Malankara Metropolitan) along with HG
Daniel Mar Philexinos (Thumpamon) and H.G. Paulose Mar Philexinos (Kandanad) visited our
Parish with Holy Relics of St. Thomas the Apostle.
1981 Cottage Prayer started.
1990 Due to Iraqi invation church activites are stopped
1991 Church activities restarted.
1995 Renamed as St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Syrian Church.
1997 Rev Fr G Varghese was appionted as the first resident Vicar.
2006 H H Baselios Mar Thoma Didimos I visited the Parish.
2009 The Church celebrated its Diamond Jubilee.
2011 H H Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II visited the Parish.
2015 H H Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II visited the Parish for the second time.
2016 Renamed as St. Thomas Indain Orthodox Syrian Church (Pazhaya Pally)
by H H Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II
2017 HH Baselios Marthoma Paulos II, graced our Edavaka Perunnal. Our church hosted the First
Kuwait Orthodox Maha Sangamam.
2018 Inauguration of Bethel Chapel at Mangaf by H.G Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius Metropolitan.
2019 Church Logo redesigned. New website launched. Parumala Previlege Charity was awarded to
us for 6 years for an amount of 6.75 lakhs yearly.
2020 Due to the impact of the pandemic, church temporarily ceased physical activities and
transitioned to online services since April2019. Successfully conducted online Cottage
Prayers, OVBS classes, Sunday School classes.
2021 Successfully conducted online Cottage Prayers, OVBS classes, Sunday School classes. Online
conventions from different places of Kerala. Distributed bravery awards for medical staff.
2022 Visit of HH Baselios Marthoma Mathews III to Kuwait after his ascension as the 9th Catholicos.
Successfully completed 100 online prayers.
The newly appointed Calcutta Diocesan Metropolitan H G Alexios Mar Eusebios made his first
visit to Kuwait on occasion of our Santhome Fest 2022.
Our church member Mr. Paul Varghese (Soji) elected as the Malankara Sabha Managing
Committee, marked the realization of a long-standing ambition.
2023 On December 21 during Pazhayapally Perunal, Navathi Celebration an year-long program

is the oldest and the second largest Parish in the Diocese of Kolkatta.
