Also, depending on the rules of each Province in Canada, young adults can choose to leave their family homes to become independent – that is, emancipated – and at the age of 16, this generation causes another significant movement as they seek work, pay taxes, accommodation and overall invest their hard- earned dollars in services and products their city has to offer, boosting its economy.
On a constitutional level, in Canada, the legal right of freedom of mobility is entrenched in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and protects the right of individuals to move from place to place within the country, to leave the country and return to it and more importantly, to pursue the gaining of a livelihood or to practise on a viable economic basis in any Province in the Canadian territory, fostering economic prosperity for cities across Canada and the right to self-sustenance of individuals. That is, if you are a doctor, a lawyer, a carpenter, an electrician, you are guaranteed the right to take up residence anywhere in Canada and not be restricted in your area of work by Provincial legislation aimed at protecting people born in the Province.
Mobility also means to afford physical access to handicapped people to services and/or with the means to move around, with a view to guarantee the opportunity to contribute their abilities and skills in the workplace and their communities. Governments that promote scientific advances in hearing and visual devices, limb prosthesis, wheel chairs, wheel chair ramps on roads and homes, electric chairs at home allowing access to a second floor at home, computerized delivery of health care in remote areas, foster economic prosperity of people that otherwise would be marginalized from the workplace and provides a boost to the economy of the communities they call
their home.
