HOW WILL YOU HANDLE THESE CHALLENGES ?

FACING ADVERSITY Caused by Covid-19 Pandemic, Systemic Racism, Blacks Murdered by Police: I have

witnessed systemic racism first hand while attending diverse school systems. I know I must work twice
as hard for the same opportunities as some of my Caucasian peers. I am willing to continue to go the
extra mile so that hopefully those coming behind me will not have to.

∙ KEEPING YOU FAITH In God to Overcome the Adversities You Will Surely Face: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in
the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and
he will show you the path to take. This is one of my favorite passages as it reminds me that I can always
count on God no matter what I am going through and he will guide me through any adversity.

∙ STAYING COMMITTED TO ACHIEVEMENT Academic Success, Individual Development, and Spiritual
Growth: I am very proud of the academic success I have achieved to this point in my life, however I know the race is not
won. I will continue to strive for excellence as I am not only representing myself but the village that helped me to get here. I
aim to make them all proud as well as prove to myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind too.
