HOW WILL YOU HANDLE THESE CHALLENGES ?

FACING ADVERSITY Caused by Covid-19 Pandemic, Systemic Racism, Blacks Murdered by Police:

I feel that in regards to the pandemic it’s extremely important to keep an open mind and be optimistic. I
believe that things get worse before they get better so it’s important to try to stay as positive as you can
until things get better.

When talking about systemic racism and police brutality, it’s important to understand your self-worth and
hold yourself to the highest standard possible because racist instances can be extremely degrading and
make you feel less than what you are. It’s also important to stand up for yourself and know how to react
in certain situations/ encounters with the police.

KEEPING YOU FAITH In God to Overcome the Adversities You Will Surely Face:

Whenever I’m going through something that’s difficult to overcome I always keep in mind that God is
overall in control and everything will end up exactly how it’s supposed to because of him. I pray for guid-
ance and strength but I know everything will ultimately be ok.

STAYING COMMITTED TO ACHIEVEMENT Academic Success, Individual Development, and Spiritual
Growth:

Keeping the end goal in mind is always super important in my opinion. I try to constantly remind myself
why I'm doing the things I'm doing and how it will all be extremely beneficial to my life in the end.
