Members of the Massachusetts State Police partnered with the
Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics
MA to take the Plunge into icy cold waters this winter to help
provide nearly 12,000 athletes with an opportunity to participate
in sports training and competition programs that help them live
longer, happier, healthier lives.
The State Polce fielded two teams, the Troop “Sea” Team
and the SP Norwell Team. Together they raised over $9,000.
Troop “Sea Team lead by Major Anderson took the plunge in
Marlborough. The SP Norwell team braved the frigid Atlantic
on a 19 degree day to support Special Olympics at Nantasket
Beach. They received assistance from the MSP Marine Unit
and US Coast Guard Hull who assured the safety of plungers.
