2. If one subject is singular and the other is plural,


                          the  words  connect  them  or,  nor,  neither/nor,



                          either/or,  and  not  only/but  also  use  the  subject


                          closest to the verb.


                                 Example                                   Explain



                          Either  the  leader  ➢ The                     subjects          in       this


                          or  the  members                   sentence  are  "leader"  and


                          agree.                             "members."



                                                         ➢ Since  "members"  is  the


                                                             closest  subject  to  the  verb


                                                             "agree,"  the  verb  follows



                                                             the subject "members."



                      3. If  a  sentence  starts  with  "there"  or  "here,"  the



                          subject always comes after the verb.
