Fire Prevention Arrangements
• No smoking must be observed anywhere within the premises;
• Smoking is only allowed in designated areas;
• Any hot works (cutting, welding, brazing or any work that produces
a spark) will require a Hot Works Permit;
• Contractors must liaise with the client to ensure management
arrangements are agreed and communicated BEFORE
commencing work;
• Any person undertaking hot works must ensure a suitable fire
extinguisher is provided. Refer to pocket guide;
• Provide warning signage and a copy of the permit must be at the
workplace;
• Propane/butane gas cylinders must be be fitted with flash-back
arrestor;
• A fire check shall be completed at least an hour after hot works is
completed;
• Any protective covers shall comply with LPS1207;
• Emergency lighting, smoke detection systems and any other fire
prevention systems must be inspected as codes of practice and
well maintained;
• Fire Action signage will be placed at all exit points and within the
building;
• Visitors must read and sign off that they have read and understood
the contents of the Visitors Information Sheet.
