A NOTE FROM
Our Leaders
Parks and Recreation is not all fun and games,
although we have a lot of fun serving our
growing community. As we face new and
exciting challenges, we are focusing on the city’s
strategic values and one in particular,
INNOVATION. Innovation, we continuously look
for ways to improve how we deliver services,
solve problems, and build community through
creative solutions that drive efficiencies and
program effectiveness. As the City of Post Falls
develops, the demand for creative, diverse and
high-quality recreational services continues to
grow and becomes even more vital in our city.
The rapid growth has been exciting as our
programs continue to surpass goals. Like many
of you, we are experiencing a strain on our
facilities, resources and staff. On the bright side
it has also granted us the opportunity to meet
the needs of our changing community
demographics through evaluation and planning.
Looking to the future for our recreational services, we are focusing on a few key strategies for
continually improving & delivering top notch programs, events and activities for all.
Assess community needs and demographics
Each year we take the opportunity to re-evaluate our offerings. We always maintain the “standard
activities”, such as youth sports, certain special events, but at least 20% of our offerings will be
different each quarter.
Continually increase diverse program offerings
We have target areas we serve, such as, youth, adult, senior and arts & cultural, but what specific
programs that are offered to meet these demographics is flexible and based on evaluations, feedback
and opportunities.
