I’ve done it all in my 26.5 years with Essex! Leasing Specialist, Assistant Manager,
Community Manager, Sr. Community Manager, Regional Manager, Division Manager. I also
spent a good chunk of time in our Training Department. This should make you smile – I
used to be Mary Quinn before she was Mary Quinn! She replaced me when I left training,
but that was 17 years ago!

What I like best about Essex, my work and my team is the diversity. The diversity in every
Melissa aspect of our business, from the people, to the product, to the varying career
opportunities, and in our daily routine (which there isn’t one!). No day is ever the same,
Gerard the only thing you know is consistent is CHANGE.

        Divisional
Manager My greatest strength is Integrity. Is that a strength? I think it is, and that’s what people
count on me for. My direct reports, our on-site teams, and our customers – I am always
PNW going to do the right thing, and people know that about me. It allows them to be more
confident in their decision making and empowers them to do the same. The most
important leadership lesson I have learned and why it’s important is to give credit where
credit is due and take responsibility for failure. Or praise publicly and criticize privately.
When planning for future the most important thing is know what the objective is. One
must completely understand what the desired result in order to effectively plan, and
quickly identify pitfalls that could happen.

The most important core value is All of them! Integrity pretty much sums it

                           up. Humility ranks high too.

Fun Fact: I have been leasing apartments since I was 16 (and that was not even my first
                           job).
