I joined the Essex family back in 2002 as a Leasing Agent at Foothill/Woodland
Commons in the PNW. I was honored my first year with the Star is Born award and
I continued to grow in Operations for the next two years. During that time, I
earned a Star Performance in Sales award, was promoted to
Assistant Manager, and had the amazing opportunity to know and love two other
PNW communities, The Elliot at Mukilteo and Forestview.

In 2004, I took an internal Bookkeeper training class led by IT for Assistant
Larson Managers and a few days after the class, I received a call asking if I would be
interested in joining the Application Support Team which kicked off the beginning
Manager of of my Corporate adventure. Immediately, when I started this job, I had a passion
Information for supporting…. our associates, the business, and my team. As a Senior
Technology Application Support Analyst, I provided daily support for the business for over 11
years and was part of some major earlier Essex IT milestones, such as the AMSI to
Yardi system/data conversion and the rollout of the RentCafe Resident Portal.
I joined Voyager Admin in 2015 as an IT Systems Administrator and have been part of the
Enterprise Applications team ever since. Being in this position expanded my technical knowledge
of our systems at an administrator level. I also transitioned to a new role in projects and
implementations where I had to learn to become confident in my ability to be a leader and an
advisor. I was awarded with a Corporate Associate of the Year award in 2016.
All that I have learned, the experiences I have gained and the opportunities that have been
provided at Essex over the last 18+ years has brought me to my job today. I was recently (2020)
promoted to Manager in Information Technology. I now have the privilege of managing our
amazing Application Support Team and continue to be part of a core technical team involved in
system implementations, upgrades, projects, and new integrations.
My Essex story continues, and I look forward to the journey ahead…
