                                pelled to  leave his native  country-  He possessed
                                an estate  or plantation  near the  Blue  Mountains,

                                a  range  which  crosses  part  of  the state  of  New

                                York,  and  which  abounds  in  deer  and  various

                                Varieties of wild animals.
                                   One day the youngest of  Le Fevre’a children—

                                a hoy about four years, of age—disappeared early

                                in  the  morning,  no  one  in  the family being  able

                                to  discover  what  had  become  of  him.  After

                                searching  everywhere  without  success  recourse
                                was  had  to  the  neighbours  for  counsel  and

                                assistance,  A number of them  met together, and
