                                    Wilifred  took  the  oats,  and,  slipping
                                past  him,  walked  slowly  towards  the

                                 on  in  the  doorway,  calling  to  her.

                                    Right  in  the  face  of  this  declaration,

                                 the  pretty colt,  with  a  toss  of  his  head,
                                 came  trotting up  to  the  child,  and  after

                                 a  moment  to’  the  amazement  of  the
                                 two  men,  followed  her  along  to  the
