Mrs. Bagley now declared that she
should go at once to her work. All
the young men had come in, she
said, and they would soon be calling
for lights.
Wilifred went into the hall, where, as
Peggy had told her* she found a row of
lamps and a big pile of towels. Taking
some of these, she went up-stairs and
boldly knocked at one of the doors.
A voice cried, 11 Come in,” and, enter
