                               round  and  get  them  potatoes  pared  for
                              dinner.”

                                  “  Oh,  but  I  can’t  stop I        I ’m  going

                               home  and  will  send  Peggy  right  back

                               to  help  you.       I  think  she  will  be  glad
                               to  qco  to  boarding  school.”

                                  W ilifrid’s  private  thought  was  that

                               there  could  be  no  mode  of  life  more

                              disagreeable  than  this-as  Mrs.  Bagley’s
                              servant,  but  she  prudently  kept  this  be­

                              lief  to  herself,

                                  Mrs.  Bagley,  who  was  now  clattering

                               about  in  a  hasty  effort  to  put  her
                              "kitchen  in  order,  paid  no  attention  to

                              W ilifred’s  speech,
