last moment, as they were putting me

into the carriage, lie came running up,
crying, 1 You have the wrong child there,

Mrs, Bagley, Hold on, Maloney, or I 11

have you up for kidnapping,’ And

Mrs, Raglcy scolded, and I screamed,
and then there was that awful clap

of thunder, and the rain came down.

That ?s why we were so long coming
                                     here.”

                                         Peggy at once became Margaret

Moran, and was as dearly loved as her

sister. In her sweet and thoughtful

way, she always showed a deep affection
for both parents, but in particular de

voted herself to her adopted mother, as

                                     Wilifred did to the Doctor.

With her help the cloud over Bolan-

der was dispelled. H e was soon on
intimate terms with the Morans, and

many of the pleasures that came into

his life were due to grateful Peggy.
