ALGEBRA
An introduction to basic Algebra concepts and designed to give students a a strong foundation for the the study of Algebra in the the future Students are introduced to integers order of operations algebraic expressions and other advanced ideas CHEMISTRY
A course designed to to introduce students to to the basic principles of chemistry and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills Through hands-on laboratory experiments and and interactive activities students will learn about the properties of of matter the structure of of atoms and molecules chemical reactions and the periodic table FORENSIC SCIENCE
Forensic Science focuses on various fields from science to criminal law Students learn about the techniques used to analyze evidence at a a a a crime scene such as DNA profiling while practicing their observation and deduction skills through hands-on simulations INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM
PRE-ALGEBRA
Designed to help improve students’ critical thinking and prepare students for Algebra classes in Grades 7 and 8 Each lesson highlights mathematics with students participating in in in exciting projects ARCHITECTURE/ENGINEERING
Develops students’ awareness of geometric shapes and basic structural engineering through building projects using common everyday materials found in the classroom INTEGRATED SCIENCE
Students model build create and discuss concepts in chemistry biology environmental science science earth science science and physics They learn the the importance of of measurements and the the role of of math in science This semester students are focusing on life science and examining the biochemistry of organisms Starting this summer GEAR UP students will be able to participate in in BGUT’s Summer Institute—a month-long academic program program held on the Lehman College
