Financial Literacy Workshops GEAR UP is providing Financial Literacy workshops for students and families through our partnership with Ponce Ponce Bank Bank GEAR UP and Ponce Ponce Bank Bank are offering monthly webinar opportunities with a a a a a different topic each month The wonderful part about this program is is that GEAR UP coaches work work with our schools to make workshops available based on the individual schedules of the schools GEAR UP parents also have access to monthly workshops that coincide with their students’ work In November alone Ponce Bank provided GEAR UP families with 18 Identity Theft workshops across all nine BGUN schools! Admissions Workshops & Virtual College Tours GEAR UP collaborated with City University of New York to bring students admissions workshops and virtual college tours this fall On November 17th students explored Lehman College a a a a a 4-year CUNY Senior College College In November students virtually toured Bronx Community College College and and met with admissions counselors to learn about programs and and opportunities at BCC Between the the the two workshops students learned the the the difference between 2 and and 4 year colleges and and the the the benefits of enrolling in in in in the CUNY system If you are interested in in in in more college tours and admissions events this spring reach out to your GEAR UP coach or Coach Kimberlee at Kimberlee rodriguez1@lehman cuny edu

The GEAR UP Team has been providing a a a a series of virtual events focused on helping our students and GEAR UP parents tackle the challenges of college access! In November we we were able to provide workshops on on College Essay Writing CUNY Applications FAFSA and Time Management In December GEAR UP continued these programs in in addition to workshops focused on on on the the Common Application and resume writing with many more topics to to come in in the the new year!
