  SUPPORTING HOSPITAL HEROES DURING COVID
Nourishing Our Frontline Staff
To support and nourish our frontline staff, Pastor Dana and LIFEhouse Church provided handmade masks and twice weekly lunches from Joe’s Café. In a few months, Pastor Dana and the team of volunteers at LIFEhouse Church delivered 544 meals to our caregivers.
Special Treats from Northridge Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors
Our Board Members support the Foundation’s efforts through sponsorships, pledges, and funding for much-needed equipment and services for the hospital. When the pandemic hit, Board Member Mrs. Sherry Lapides wanted to do something even sweeter, so
she established a “treats fund.” With help from the rest of the board, she raised
$3,000 to purchase ice cream, bundtinis, and donuts for our hard working heroes.
“Feed Hero Nurses” Go Fund Me Project
Inspired by organizations coming together to recognize frontline workers, Michael Bleau wanted to ensure that overnight and weekend nursing staff were also supported. Enter the “Feed Hero Nurses”
Go Fund Me Project—a program that provides nurses with ready-to-eat meals while also supporting local restaurants.
Feed Hero Nurses came to fruition after Michael reached out to Postmates CEO Bastian Lehmann, who waived delivery fees for nurses, and marketing agency Festivate owner Amanda Cosenza who donated social media and digital messaging services. Michael also secured businesses to donate in bulk, collected donations through his Go Fund Me page, and asked restaurants to offer a set price of $10 per meal.
Feed Hero Nurses launched in Los Angeles and soon spread nation- wide, raising over $124,000 to fund meals for frontlines workers. This includes Northridge Hospital, which has received dinner meals twice a week from this project.
Illuminating Our Hospital for Hospital Week
To commemorate National Hospital Week in May, Greg Day at Daylight Events illuminated Northridge Hospital with the words “Heroes Work Here” to recognize the amazing work our heroes do each and every day.
