• Local action
• Low ADA incidence
• Long-term immune compatibility
If we want payers to reimburse and physicians to prescribe,
we need data that demands trust—and platforms that
deliver it.
5. Win Hearts and Minds—Across Sectors
Finally, we must recognize that this is not just a scientific
revolution.
It’s a cultural one.
For edible biologics to succeed, we need to bring along:
• Physicians, who must understand why a capsule of
freeze-dried lettuce is more than a dietary
supplement
• Public health leaders, who must be shown the cost
savings of shelf-stable, orally delivered therapies
• Regulators, who must feel confident in the science
• Patients, who must trust that a plant can be a
medicine
• And governments, who must see this not as an
experiment—but as an opportunity to democratize
drug access
This will require education, transparency, and
storytelling.
