               Why AI Is Essential to Plant-Based Drug
               Development

               Biologics are some of the most complex drugs in existence.
               They’re not small molecules that can be synthesized with a
               few chemical steps—they’re large, delicate proteins that
               must:

                   •  Fold correctly to preserve their active sites.
                   •  Carry the right glycosylation patterns, which
                       affect their stability, immunogenicity, and efficacy.
                   •  Achieve therapeutic yield within the plant system,
                       or risk becoming economically unviable.
                   •  Pass consistency tests across multiple production
                       runs and locations.


               In traditional biomanufacturing, these variables are
               controlled inside steel bioreactors, where conditions can be
               kept narrowly uniform.


               But in plants—living, breathing, photosynthesizing
               systems—these conditions are dynamic. Light levels
               change. Temperatures shift. Water quality varies. No two
               leaves are ever exactly alike.

               To meet the standards of pharmaceutical production in such
               an environment, you need more than agronomy.
