P. 29
I’m on my way to myself, that’s what I’m told, that’s what I experienced since I was 5 years old.
Always got what I wanted,
till I couldn’t anymore.
“You can’t have everything your way,” that’s what I’m told.
I’m on my way to myself, that’s what I’m told, that’s what I learned since I was 11 years old.
Growing up with boys
I became like them.
“You’re a girl, you need to act lady-like,” that’s what I’m told.
I’m on my way to myself, that’s what I’m told,
that’s what I felt trapped in when I turned 16 years old.
I’m the only girl.
So, I shouldn’t look at girls.
“You must continue this family and have babies,” that’s what I’m told.
I’m on my way to myself, that’s what I’m told,
that’s what I grew out of now that I’m 19 years old.
