World Percheron Congress
USA asked the Canadian Club to consider hosting the next WPC, 2018. CPA asked Ontario if they would host the next WPC. This was raised at a Board meeting and the Directors did not decide in favour of a date. This topic will be raised at each OPHA AGM.
2024 will be the 100th Anniversary of the OPHA. The membership is asked to consider some event for 2024. Motion – Erik Davidson, 2nd Glen Smith that the OPHA send out a letter to the Canadian Association, US association and all Countries to say that we, the OPHA, are reserving the date of 2024 in order to celebrate our 100th anniversary. Carried.
Constitution changes
The proposed changes were published in the December 2014 Percheron Post. The changes were primarily housekeeping matters. The constitution was last updated at the 2005 AGM.
Article 8 – amended to read that all payments by cheque be signed by any two of the following: President, 1st Vice President and Secretary Treasurer. Vote held. Carried.
Article 3 – amended to state that junior membership goes up to 18 years of age. It will now read that junior members will be between the ages of 7 to 18 years of age, starting in the current year (2015). Vote held. Carried.
Election of directors
4 terms are up. John Northcote, Regina Baezner and Dan Barron are willing to stand for renomination. Bernie Brus declined. Motion – Bob Black, 2nd Bill Stokes that all 3 be re-elected. Carried.
Bob Black was nominated as a new Director – Carried.
Other business
Rockton Fair says thank you for the OPHA support and attendance at their Fair.
John Holmes motioned to adjourn. 2nd Bill Barron. Carried.
2015 BANQUET REPORT
Our 2015 Banquet was off to an excellent start when Hedy Edwards and her crew transformed the banquet room into a fine dining room with her outstanding decorations. Thank you Hedy and Crew – well done! Our attendance numbers were down quite a bit but those in

To those who contributed to the auction and all bidders successful or not, we owe you all a very big Thank
You. We attempted to send thank you cards to all contributors but if we missed you, we apologize and extend
attendance made sure we had a successful event.
a Thank You to you now. Without your exceptional support of the Banquet Auction the event could not be
the success it is. The banquet offers those in attendance time to come together on a cold dreary February
each year for socializing over dinner and an opportunity to visit without the time limit imposed during our
show season. Elsewhere in this issue of Percheron Post is a selection of photos from this year’s event. Those
of you that did not attend missed a great Percheron event. We really missed you and look forward to seeing
you next year.
