Tuesday 26 August 2008 ~ KUSADASI, TURKEY & PATMOS, GREECE
We made two ports of call today. Firstly, Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. We sign on for the optional
morning excursion that takes us to the fascinating Greek, Roman, and Byzantine excavations of
Ephesus.
Before returning to the ship, we take time to browse in the excellent rug shops near the port.
Next, we discovered the tiny Greek island of Patmos, where St. John the Divine wrote the Revelation.
We took the narrow and steep climb up to the 11th-century monastery with its valuable manuscript
collection.
