Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
his morning we entered the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, the largest protected flooded forest of the world
Twith a diversity of 449 tropical bird species, 102 mammals, 256 known species of freshwater fish, 69 reptiles and
more than 1,000 varieties of plants. The reserve is home to species in danger of extinction like the giant otter, the
manatee and the pink dolphin of the Amazon. During our skiff tour we saw various lizards, monkeys, birds and a
caiman.
Three toed sloth; fortunately our skipper did not stop underneath!!
