Darwin - Wednesday, 13th March
free day in Darwin to explore at our
Aleisure.
As it was hot, and, we have been to Darwin
twice before, we decide to spend the morning
in the hotel pool.
After lunch we book a fish and chips dinner
cruise for dinner and a bit of late afternoon
site seeing on the harbour.
We wait until the afternoon cools a bit before
walking down to Stokes Hill Wharf for our
evening dinner cruise. We’re there a bit early
and try to find a shady spot to wait, others
around also looking for shade while we wait.
We eventually board and get underway, not
long into the cruise and we make landing on a
small beach and our female deck hand
disembarks and heads up over the beach with
a couple of large bags to collect our Fish and
chips. With the ‘decky’ back on board dinner
is served and we sit back and enjoy the cruise
and watch as the sun slowly sinks below the
horizon.
The boat gets us back to the wharf just after
sunset and we catch a taxi back to the hotel
Clockwise from above: Darwin skyline from the water; another view of the city from the water; the vegetation increases as we leave the city bounds;
the beach where we landed to collect dinner; what we had all been waiting for - the magical sunset
