                                                                                                                                                                                                guidance

Dr. Siva was always such a bright light when he walked onto our Oncology Unit. One day, I was training a
new nurse in her first weeks of orientation. She was so nervous about presenting the patient in multidisciplinary
rounds, which is always nerve-wracking for new graduate nurses. I was excited when we saw Dr. Siva was our these words initially come to mind in describing this most gentle soul.
patients’ doctor that day. We rounded with the team, and he was so kind and gave her pointers, making it such What a privilege it has been to have worked with and become friends with him. His talents as a physician
a pleasant first experience. After we saw our patients, we stopped rounds and started talking. Somehow, the were apparent. His calm demeanor accompanied him to each patient room. Dr. Siva had an amazing

conversation led us to Dr. Siva giving us pointers on how to invest money and set ourselves up successfully bedside manner. It was apparent that patients felt at ease talking with him. He had a knack for establishing
for retirement. We were laughing since we are far from retirement, but it was so kind that he cared enough to trust with his patients and exuding a sense that they could count on him to take care of them.
take the time out of his busy day to talk to us and give us such great advice. I remember, specifically, he gave In the many years having worked and rounded with Dr. Siva, I never tired of his thorough review of a patient’s
