I resolve to say Dr. Siva has been greatly missed. He was a simple, down-to-earth individual. He made
personal connections with staff. He talked about work and life. He enjoyed conversations about the world. As we move through life, certain people enhance our world just by their presence. Dr. Siva was that soul
who energized every room/unit he entered.
He liked to share his wisdom and opinions about various topics. His viewpoints would make you laugh so
loudly, forgetting you’re at work. He was likable, kindhearted, compassionate and good at being a doctor. I initially worked with Dr. Siva in my role as a social worker on the Orthopedic Unit at Suburban Hospital.
He went above and beyond his responsibilities for his patients. Some of his phrases will continue to live Through my interactions with him, I was quick to notice that he moved patients, families and staff forward

in our hearts. and encouraged all of us to grow. How did he do this? He embraced each and every situation and gave it

worker in that he had respect for the equality, worth and dignity of every person. His nonjudgmental
attitude let him start where the patient was, and he was open to the patient’s self-determination. Dr. Siva
trust at rounds. I am so grateful that I had this human relationship/friendship with him.

Dr. Siva said, “What everyone else
I called him “Siv” (because I could never pronounce his first name). thinks of me is not my business.”
He always had a smile on his face no matter what the circumstances were in his daily life at work.
He gave me the ultimate respect and trusted my thoughts regarding patient care. I am so saddened —Wehazit Petros, C.R.N.P.
