If I had frustrating patients who were demanding, he would say, “Listen Qasba, don’t fight. Just give them what In loving memory of
they want.” I never saw Sudarshan stressed out.

He would say, “Listen, Qasba, sometimes doing less is actually doing more.” The other day I had a patient Dr. Sudarshan Siva
with low sodium. I could not figure out why, decided to do nothing as Sudarshan would have done, and
sure enough, her sodium was in the normal range the next day, and I discharged her home.

My mother sends me daily words of inspiration. Two quotes that we both loved:

“I’m smiling not because I’m stronger than my problems. I’m smiling because my God is stronger than my problems.”

“God is like software. He enters our life, scans our problems, edits our tensions, downloads solutions, deletes all
                   our worries and saves us.”

While Sudarshan was at Suburban, he texted me on the Sunday evening before he was transferred to
Hopkins, asking if I could drop off Chipotle for him with sofritas. I asked him what that was, and
he said tofu. He also told me to bring him regular coke and not diet. I asked why not diet, and he said,
“Diet will kill you!” Manizhe and I were out having dinner across the street from the Chipotle, so we
went and picked it up and dropped it off at Suburban. He loved it. I texted him later and asked
if he needed anything else and he said, “No Qasba, you have done more than enough, the rest
                          is in God’s hands.”

When I saw Sudarshan two nights before he passed away, he was at peace. I told him how much I loved him
and that God will always be with you! He knew it then and has always known that.
