There is or There are?

1. Use “there IS” for singular nouns. There is spider on the wall.

2. Use “there IS” for uncountable items. There is milk on the floor.
3. Use “there ARE” for Plural nouns. There are pencils on my desk.

Pattern:
(+) There + is/are + object

There is a book on the shelf.
(-) There + isn’t/aren’t + object

There aren’t books on the shelf.

(?) Is/Are + There + object ?
Is there a restaurant in the shopping mall?
