M: Maybe not, but if 1 graduate from school early, then 1 can take a long vacation before 1 start university
W: That would be awesome. Would you take a trip?
M: Well , my parents have a radical trip planned to Europe for next year. They’ve promised that 1 can go to。
if 1 graduate early
W: Wow l That will be a hard-earned vacation. Don ’t you want to spend more time with your friends before we
all go away to university?
M: 8ure 1 do. It’s probable that 1 can graduate early enough , whereby 1 can go to Europe and still spend time
with my friends
W: 00 you think it’s possible that you can do it all? You’re putting yourself under a lot of pressure
M ’ 1 sure hope so. 1 still have to decide what 1 will do

M: The conversation is about whether the student should attend summer school or take a vacation. The student
says that attending summer school will deduct from his workload next year. He may also be able to graduate
early. If he graduates early, his parents have promised to take him on a radical trip to Europe. He thinks it’S
probable that he can graduate early, go to Europe, and still spend time with friends. However, there are
advantages to taking a vacation. If you have been studying hard all year, it is implicit to take a break from
studying in order to perform better in exams. It is also important to spend time with friends before school
finishes and everyone goes away to university. 1 think he should take the vacation time and spend as much
time with friends as possible

W: 80, what did your parents want to talk to you about last night?
M: They wanted to talk about my grades. My average is low, and they think it’s implicit that 1 attend summer
school during the vacation
W: But, didn’t you plan on getting a job?
M: Yes, that’s what 1 have been planning. 1 have a radical job lined up, working on a fruit farm. One of my
friends is a great organizer. He has planned a road trip at the end of the summer, and 1 was going to save
money to go with him.
W: That would be a hard-earned road trip. 00 you know how difficult working on a farm is?
M: I'm an energetic person. It would be great working outdoors in the summer-beautiful blue skies, fresh air,
and sunshine
W: You’re right about that, but if your grades are low, maybe you should listen to your parents and go to summer
schooL It will really improve your chance of getting into a good university.
M: 1 could really do with some extra studying. It’s probable that 1 won’t get any university offers with my current
grades.
W: And you’11 probably earn very little working on a fruit farm. 1 hear that they deduct money if you eat to。
much fruit
M: Oh, maybe 1 wouldn’t save very much money
W: 1 have an awesome idea. Maybe you could make a deal with your parents whereby you go to summer
school, and they pay for your road trip
M: That would be great, but 1’m not sure that they’ 11 go for it
