Answer 2:
I don’t like chatting on the phone. I think it wastes time and money. Sometimes, you get
misunderstood when talking on the phone. You need to explain something unclear over and
over. Also, phone bills are high nowadays. A friend of mine paid thousands of dollars because
of chatting on the phone. It is better to talk face-to-face. You can explain something with less
confusion. That’s why I don’t like to chat on the phone.

            Points to emphasize in answering:

State your opinion about the subject.
[example: I do not like chatting on the phone.]

                 Explain why by:
                 - giving an overview of your reasons
[example: I think it wastes time and money.]
                 - developing the reasons with details

                 Conclude the discussion
[examples: That’s why I don’t like to chat on the phone.]

                Get misunderstood - be misinterpreted
                unclear - uncertain; vague
                over and over - repeatedly
phone bill - phone invoice; a demand for payment for a phone service
face-to-face - personally or in person
explain something - make something clear
                confusion - misunderstanding

                                                                                                   51
