Chapter 3 Campus Life

                   Unit 6: Role Playing

A student, whose family just moved in to your neighborhood, is not familiar with
directions going to the university. He makes friends with you and asks you for help.
Try to give detailed and clear directions for him to get to the university.

              Answer A:
Hi. You may call me Sam, I’d be glad to show you around. I live on the next block, and I study
at the university downtown. Going there would take you around 20 to 30 minutes. From here,
take a five minute walk going to the bus stop. A bus passes by every 10 minutes. During rush
hours, the bus ride would be more than 20 minutes, but I usually leave home earlier, so it only
takes me 15 minutes from the bus stop to the next stop near the campus entrance. By the way,
I would be having classes later. I could accompany you to school if you’d like to have someone
               with you going there.

              Points to emphasize in answering:

Begin by estimating the amount of time needed to reach the place.
[example: Going there would take around 20 to 30 minutes.]

                   Mention your starting point.

Specify what mode of transportation to ride.

Mention the duration of the ride and the end point

Conclude by confirming if the person asking understood the directions.
