Lesson 1
Websites
I am into speedy loading pages, so
sometimes it drives me crazy waiting for all
these colorful and animated pages to load.
Cyberspace patience is measured in
milliseconds, unlike that of off-line where an
hour is tolerable. My bandwidth is that
of a 56 kbps modem and I don’t have
the luxury with an ADSL connection. To
all those web designers out there, give me the
option to choose what kind of pages to load. Don’t cram into my browser and
flash pages when all I need is a simple text file. Give me the option to save and
play audio and video outside the browser. Don’t give me those endearing pop
ups and rollover because they annoy me. Give me an intuitive interface instead
so I can navigate easily to those pages I need.
Comprehension
1. What is the writer talking about?
2. What annoys the writer?
3. What does “navigate” mean in this paragraph?
Questions
