Lesson 20
Addiction
Anything that is excessive is bad.
Addiction in general is an obsession,
compulsion, or excessive psychological
dependence on something like drugs. This
term may not only be implied with drugs or any
substance but also with anything that is used
extremely or any excessive want for a certain
thing. The concept of addiction has a negative
meaning. Even if it is with good things, it cannot
be regarded as positive because, has anything
that is more than what you need a bad effect in
the end. Like for instance eating. Eating is not
bad but if you eat more than the amount that you need, the tendency is you
will have stomachaches or you will experience vomiting. Another example
is with studying. If you study excessively, your health may be compromised
because you spend all your time studying and you don’t give time to take
care of yourself. This is an illustration that tells us to put limitations on
everything that we do.
